TD Shipley were forced to settle for a 1–1 draw away at Seaford after a frustrating first half display was followed by an improved performance in the second half.
TD started the game slowly, struggling to find their rhythm and allowing Seaford to dictate the tempo. Shipley’s passing lacked sharpness, and they were second to loose balls throughout much of the opening half. Seaford took advantage of this sluggish start, breaking the deadlock midway through the first half with a scrappy goal all round.
TD still threatened to score with numerous chances, even though not at the best. Ava Wheeler having the best chance in the first half for Shipley as she won the ball high up the [itch and hit a thunderous strike but much like the other shots, it was straight at the goal keeper.
Half time 1-0 Seaford.
After the break, TD Shipley came out with renewed energy and intent. Pressing higher up the pitch and moving the ball quicker, they began to take control of the game. Their efforts were rewarded early in the second half when a well-worked move ended with a composed finish to bring the score level. Kara Murray scored to level the game up at 1-1, again TD won the ball high up the pitch, in which Amber Minter played a superb pass into Kara's feet and Kara had one thing on her mind. Drive at the player and then finish, and she executed it perfectly.
From there, Shipley pushed for a winner, creating several promising opportunities, but they were unable to find the decisive goal. Seaford pushed on a few occasions but showing no real threat, meaning both sides had to settle for a share of the points.
Full time 1-1.
Player of the match was Kara Murray, threatened their defence at every occasion, if that was driving at the defence or running in behind. Scoring the goal aswell to get TD a point was vital.
Onto Next week, with another away game against Eastbourne in the cup. COME ON TD!!!
