The first 25 minutes saw the team struggle to find rhythm, with misplaced passes and a lack of intensity allowing the opposition to settle into the game. However, the breakthrough came in the 23rd minute, slightly against the run of play, when a well-taken finish opened the scoring. Just two minutes later, the lead was doubled, as confidence began to flow and the team suddenly looked in full control.

Amber scored the in the 23rd minute with a well taken, finish from the edge of the box from Amber Minter. Amber doesn't score many goals but when she does score they are well needed and big goals. Poppy Hollings created the goal by beating 2 or 3 defenders down the left hand side and cut it back for Amber to finish.

Two minutes later, Abbie Streatfield scored her 4th goal of the season, as TD played some good football from back to front with Shanna Hall playing a wonderful lofted pass into the patch of Abbie who finished calmly into the bottom right corner.

The tempo shifted for the last 10 minutes of the game as TD seemed to raise the tempo and quality, began to look like the team from last week again. pressing high, aggressive in tackles, willingness to drive at the defenders and playing some inviting passes forward.

Half time 2-0.

Shipley girls had the hairdryer treatment at half time as the performance in the first 20-25 minutes was not good enough and knew they could do better. This seemed to push the home side as they raised the tempo majorly and continued to show Roffey what TD were about.

Chances kept coming for TD but they couldn't find the third, on the other hand Isabelle Hussein wasn't being troubled much except having to gather numerous long balls from the away teams GK.

TD changed their personnel today as they were wanting to exploit the fact that Poppy Hollings had the better of the defenders. Shipley changed to long ball today with numerous balls in behind and making the defenders run back to their own goal.

Half time Isabelle Hussein was given some information, that every time she had a drop kick to hit Poppy Hollings, and In the 49th minute, this was executed perfectly as Isabelle Hussein got her first assist, with a drop kick straight down the middle with Poppy latching onto the ball and finishing perfectly past the keeper into the back of the net.

Throughout the game, Roffey were throwing long throw after long throw, Maddie Tomlinson dealt with everything put into the box, clearing every throw away and annoying the away side.

The last 10 minutes nothing major happened as TD saw the game out and made sure to keep the clean sheet.

Full time 3-0.

While the performance wasn’t amazing overall, the response after the slow start was impressive, and the team will take confidence from a clean sheet and three well-earned points.

Player of the match today was Maddie Tomlinson, an all round defensive and captains performance, leading by example, winning everything at the back, and brilliant communication and encouragement.

A Sunday off next weekend but TD shipley are back at home against Seaford on the 2nd of November. COME ON TD!!!
