Back into league action this weekend against Horsham Sparrows, after tough defeat in the cup last week
Both teams started with solid defensive shapes, making it difficult for both sides to create clear cut chances early on. TD dominated possession, controlling the midfield with good determination and good passing. TD came closest in the first half with the chance from Poppy Hollings who was in the right place at the right time but couldn't finish the chance.
Horsham Sparrows caught the away side on the counter a couple of times but TD's defence were there to stop any chances.
The second half saw little change as Shipley controlled the ball again with Sparrows continuing to look to hit TD on the counter. Both teams had a couple of chances but neither side could open the scoring.
In the final few minutes, the match became a scrappy affair as both teams wanted to win the game but also had defending and keeping the clean sheet on the back of their mind.
In the end, the match ended 0-0, with both teams sharing the points in a closely contested encounter. For TD the result extends their unbeaten run in the league to 9 matches.
Orla Campbell claimed POTM with a solid and all round defensive display with crucial tackles and blocks and also some fantastic talking throughout the game.
Onto next weekend, where TD Girls are away to Crawley Maidenbower Panthers in league action. Come on TD!!!
