Dragons Rue Missed Chances in exciting Draw

A tough away game with a Fishergate team who wanted to prove they deserved to be in the top half of the table.

For TD it was a disappointing night in front of goal with over 40 shots but only 3 hitting the back of the net.

First goal came within 2 minutes with some good work down the left before Stephen picked out Dorian for the first goal which was a brilliant finish past the keeper.

Fishergate equalised from a triple fluke bounce off our players from a corner and their striker tucked it away well.

Big D took the game to Fishergate and with Kieron, Sam, Jack and Stephen were causing problems for the defence with their pace and passing. Within 14 minutes we had scored again with D and Sam playing some neat passes between them on the right hand side before playing it across into the middle for Freddie. The ball popped up off Fred and the keeper did his best to keep it out but D was there to knock it in.

After half time and some changes, this allowed Fishergate to get back into the game and they got the equaliser after a foul on the right hand side of the area. Their captain stepped up and smashed a freekick over the wall and into the back of the net.
This had their tails up and they ended up taking the lead 5 minutes later through a deflected shot from the left hand side of the box that looped over Oli in difficult conditions.

We pushed and pushed for the equaliser with Dorian coming back on and Stephen to drag the team forward. Dorian took the ball several times past the defenders and keeper but a last minute challenge or the post saved Fishergate. There were a few close penalty calls that on another day would of been given but that's football.
In the end it was a fantastic run from Big D again that broke through the defence and he blasted a left footed shot towards goal. The keeper and defender on the line got a touch but knocked it into the path of Stephen who lashed it into the back of the net.

We had several more chances in the last 5 minutes but ultimately our finishing and lack of control in the second half let us down something that has only happened a few times this season.
