Strong Showing from the League Leaders.

After a 3 week break you could of forgiven the boys for not showing up today but they honestly proved once again what a fantastic bunch of lads and what a brilliant team they are!

Burgess Hill turned up in good form after winning last week 4-1 against Gamechangers so we knew it would be a tough ask to beat them but believed our boys could do it!

The boys knew they had to start strong and they really did. From the off they took the game to Burgess Hill and started to create chances down both wings with our defence doing well to start the build up play. Toby, Ethan and Dean started for us and were doing really well clearing up any long clearance that came their way. Jack and Lewis held the middle of midfield and were putting in strong challenges and winning every tackle that was there to be won. Stephen and Dorian were both causing issues for the full backs and well Stan, Kieron and Sam were the defences worst nightmare!

Chances were coming quickly for us and it felt like a mixture of good blocks and the wind meant that the game stayed level for the first few minutes.

After 9 minutes the ball dropped to Dean at left back and he took a touch and beat his man before chipping a pass into the path of Kieron. Kier took the ball down like he had a magnet on his foot and beat his man for pace before getting to the byline and cutting it back to Sam who had made a great run into the box. Kieron got wiped out in the process but didnt let that stop the attack. Sam looked up and played a really quick 1-2 with Stan in the box before unleashing a wonderful curling shot into the far corner of the goal past the helpless keeper!
1-0 and very well deserved!

From here the boys took total control of the game and played some brilliant passing football. Burgess struggled to get any luck down the wings and Toby had their striker in his pocket the entire game.

Chances were coming thick and fast for us With Dorian and Stephen linking up well with the forward line. If not for a few eager flags from their linesman, the score would be much more flattering by this point!

There was a passage of play on the left between Dean, Stephen and Kieron which put their RB on skates and ended up with Stephen being challenged and having to come off. From this point Mase came on and got involved straight away.

Some neat play in the midfield between Jack and Lewis worked the ball out to Mase, who played a pass back to Dean. Dean picked out Kieron on the edge of the area who instantly controlled the ball and played a pass into Stan. Stan Laid the ball off into Kieron's path and with one small touch out of his feet, Kieron whipped a beaut of a shot into the net with his Right foot!

2-0 and a fantastic team goal!

HT TD - 2 - Burgess - 0

At Half time the boys said to us that they were happy with what they were doing but they needed to kill off the game. They wanted to get the next goal and control it from there, which was brilliant to hear! Nigel let the boys know that more changes would be made when needed and they went back out there ready to go!

From the off the boys did their best to control the game again as Burgess came out flying in the second half. Ethan, Jack, Dorian and Lewis were working well down the right side and were playing some great passing football, moving the ball around quickly and efficiently!

Burgess started to attack down the left side but were met with the brick wall of Mase and Dean! Considering Mase was playing LM for us, he did a lot of defensive work to help Dean deal with the long balls and the overload that BH were trying to implement down that side!

However it was a change in Midfield with Riley coming on for Lewis that opened the game up a little bit more due to the BH players being scared of Riley's Size and not putting in the tackles that they had been.

Riley picked up the ball from Ethan at the back and looked up and played a brilliant pass out to Dorian on the right. Dorian stood up his man and then beat the back up defender and whipped in a fantastic cross into the box. The ball bounced right as the keeper has dived and tried to parry it away but into the path of Kieron who finished calmly into the back of the net!

3-0 and game over!

BH tried their best to get back into the game but with some fantastic game management from the boys and defensive work they didnt look like scoring. I think in the whole game Oliver had one shot to save!

FT- TD - 3 - BH - 0

Another Brilliant performance from the boys, proving why they are were they are in the league this season and that they deserve to be in this league!

MOTM- Mason Godfrey - A standout performance from Mase who was thrown in towards the end of the first half and never put a foot wrong, looking to spread the play while also chipping in defensively!
