Tough Opposition put up a fight against the Resilient TD

After Last week's game against Lindfield the boys knew they had to get a result today to get the form back in their favour.

A tough Fishergate's side were our opponents today and looking at their previous results we knew that they were going to be a dangerous opponent to face after last weeks upset.

The boys came flying out the blocks and a strong side helped us start strong with a good amount of the ball and creating chances down the right hand side.

After a few attacks, Fishergate started to grow into the game and caused issues with their tricky left winger getting a bit of space and driving at our defence. He won a free kick out on the left hand side and stepped up himself and whipped the ball in and over an Unlucky Freddie.

Again going behind but the boys didn't let this effect their game and continued to press and create chances with Sam, Kieron and Stan going close and Dorian creating havoc down the right hand side. Jack and Harry bossing the midfield and Dean, George, Toby and Cam doing well across the pitch.

Fishergate's lead only lasted for 6 minutes as Cam played a great pass into Harry who laid it into the path of Sam. Sam held off his man and played a lovely ball through to Dorian on the right who beat his man and got to the byline before cutting back to Stan who finshed with another lovely Half Volley into the back of the net.

From here the boy's tails were up but we still needed to do some defending and Dean and Freddie both pulled off some unbelievable stops/tackles to keep the game level.

The pressure paid off after a change by Nigel bought Ethan on at Rb and he won the ball on the right hand side before playing a ball into Kieron. Kieron looked up and dinked a little ball behind the defence and Sam made an Unreal move y curving his run to stay onside and run into the box before releasing a shot that was just kept out by the keeper. The ball Bounced out and fell at the feet of Dorian, who didnt panic and lashed a fantastic shot, Low and Hard past the keeper into the back of the net.

At half time, the boys were vocal again about what they were doing right and also what they thought was going wrong and how we needed to go out in the second half and get the result that they needed and deserved. Nigel made some changes and switch Harry for Riley and Mase for George.

The boys started the game strong again and started to create more chances out wide as the game was getting scrappy in the middle with Fisher's unable to deal with Riley's size and strength. Jack was playing a more holding role and was winning a lot of balls in the air keeping them pinned in.

After a few chances down the right it started to get a bit scrappy and some pushes made on Jack. From the throw, this went over the top and Kieron, tracking back got in front of their player who went down on the corner of the box and the ref gave a penalty. This was tucked away into the bottom corner even though Freddie was so close to getting a hand on it.

Straight away Nigel made changes and bought on Stephen and Charlie to get us back into the game. Stephen came in on the right and Charlie swapped for Tobes at the back.

We continued to push and push and continually caused issues down the wings. Sam and Stan both came close with fantastic efforts and we almost broke the deadlock with a corner just being tipped away by their Keeper.

The left hand side with Mase, Dean and Kieron continued to be the danger with them whipping in balls and causing issues with their strength, crosses and just general passing play.

It was just before the hour mark when a lovely little bit of play between the three ended up with the ball at Dean's feet and he looked up and whipped a vicous ball into the box. With Sam holding off his man and the flight of the ball it was met at the back post by Stephen with another well taken half volley finish on his weaker right foot. A great goal and deserved to get us back into the lead.

The boys continued to push and push for more goals which made the game end to end. Ethan, Who hadn't put a foot wrong since he came on, Charlie and Dean continued to clean up any balls coming over the top and Mase, Stephen, Sam, Dorian and Stan pushed for more. Sam and Dorian both came close with the keeper pulling off some unbelievable stops, 1 on 1 and kept the score close.

FT TDFC 3 - FFYC - 2

A fantastic and hard fought result against a very good footballing side. Needed the bounceback win after last week and the boys delivered. Onto Next week and Back against Horley Town FC.

MOTM- Ethan Poll- Didnt put a foot wrong after he came on, Kept their danger man quiet and continued to try and create attacks from the right hand side.
