The 3s begun their season with an emphatic win against a very youthful and ever improving Southwater 3s.
In what was the 3s first ever league performance they were able to field a very strong side, despite being short of a Goalkeeper and recognised full backs. The first half was a nervous affair with TD looking to get the ball down and play with some tempo, a couple of misplaced passes lead to half opportunities for for Southwater until TD opened the scoring with a well crafted goal, Gaz laying in Andy down the wing with a clever first pass, Andy then putting in a lovely cross for Josh to smash home on the half volley. The remainder of the half belonged to Southwater as the looked to press TD who were a little sloppy in possession, for all the the possession Southwater could not open up TDs defensive structure.
In the second half TD began with purpose, and thanks to an electric run on the left wing by George managed to double their lead with a clinical finish from Adam. The second half belonged to TD, and in particular the forward line who caused Southwater a number of issues with direct running, coming from a far more structured and positive team performance. Once the second goal was scored by TD, Southwater came forward alot more meaning TDs front line could pick them off on the counter, Adam walking away with four second half goals, and Andy getting his first league goal of the season.
A strong and promising performance for TD 3s, a special mention to Deep and Wardy who both played full back for the entire match, a position they both excelled in considering they have never operated there before.
