In a rainy encounter at Dragons Green Eastbourne and Shipley both got the ball down and tried to play passing football.
It was clear to see from the start that these 2 sides were evenly matched and that this would be a close game.
Good chances were few and far between but Archie was the busier of the 2 keepers, both defences were playing well restricting the forwards opportunities and the game was a midfield battle.
Half way through the first half a ball popped up and struck a TD arm in the box, the ref blew for the penalty, although this did seem a little harsh. Archie stood tall and saved the fierce shot down the middle. This should have served as a warning to TD but it only served to inspire Borough on more, the next attack ended with a Borough strike that this time found the corner of the TD net for a 1-0 lead.
HT: 0-1
TD upped their game in the 2nd half but couldn't turn their efforts into great chances. However after a brilliant driving run from Hayden round the left flank of the Borough defence he cut the ball back to Jai who finished with a lovely strike into the top right bins.
Again this should have inspired the Dragons to push on but within a minute Borough were ahead again a driving run through the centre of TDs midfield and defence saw a cross from their right turned in.
Moments later a ball struck a hand of a Borough player in the box but this time the ref did not award a pen.
Few chances were left in the game and Borough held on to take the spoils.
FT: 1-2
MOM: Hayden - Driving runs and tidy possession throughout.
