Our U13 Dragons kicked off the season away in Peacehaven against a good side and equitted themselves well in the difficult conditions.

A hard bouncy surface and a blustery wind were a challenge for our boys but as the game wore on it was TD who looked the most liekly to nick the win.

The game started with TD trying to play a passing game but the small pitch and conditions allowed the Peacehaven boys to press quickly and stop us getting the ball down to play. Peacehaven looked dangerous, but the defence and midfield was resolute, in fact the Peacehaven defence was also resolute so the game became a midfield battle.

Chances were few and far between at both ends with both GKs alert and able, however on 20, a misplaced kick from the Peacehaven GK was collected by Ashden who lashed the ball back past the keeper into the top right off the net to kick off the TD goalscoring season and put the Dragons into the lead.

The lead could not be held until half time as TD were not alert from a corner and the Peacehaven boys were, poking home to level.

The 2nd half saw TD playing into the wind with Peacehaven aided by the wind but it was TD who looked the most likely to grab the win. Chances for Hayden, Jack, Frankie and Jai couldn't be converted while the defence and Archie were very tidy, restricting Peacehaven to only a couple of half chances.
Minutes before the end a through ball from Jack saw Jai stride clear, he drove wide of the goal and poked his cross/shot past the goal keeper towards the goal, Ashden smashed home from a few yards but the linesmans flag was raised and the goal disallowed, grassroots VAR would have sorted this one out but it was not to be!
