The boys had to adapt to a whole new set of Challenges and in addition play against a team a year older who have been playing to these rules for a while.
The Dragons made up for the extra size, strength and speed of the older opposition with a display full of concentration, quality and determination. The adjustments to the new formation were in reality, quite seamless and the performance was one to be very very proud of.
A goal from Olly D gave the Dragons a lead fairly early on after good work from Seb, Jude and Ashden.
Jake and James provided great width down the flanks and delivered a host of crosses which only needed a touch on to trouble the score sheet more. Seb and Ashden provided athleticism and quality in the midfield and Alfie and Thomas patrolled the back line with determination and concentration.
Jude finding himself on the ball in the 10 role, dictating attack after attack.
The Robins hit back hard and had the Dragons on the ropes, three quick goals put the Dragons in some trouble.
HT: 1-3
The Introduction of Lewis, Harry and Aarav didn't disrupt the Dragons at all and all boys contributed nicely.
Lewis holding up the ball and playing back in the midfielders with real quality. Aarav defending with purpoe as he usually does and Harry being both combative and composed on the ball when allowed.
After good work from Seb and Jude down the left flank Jude drove inside and then shot back across the keeper to get the Dragons back into the game. It was a looping header from Ashden that equalled the scores when he attacked the ball and bravely headed in.
FT: 3-3
MOM: Thomas S - Solid defending with concentration
A great performance all round
