We travelled to Newdigate unsure what was waiting for us, there first game of the season after 2 walk overs ,Perhaps they thought they could match the mighty red machine.
Instructions were simple!!! win the toss play up hill first ,As Newdigate notoriously like to come at you 2nd half with the hill. Hit them hard and fast keep the tempo high. The lack of game time meant our physical condition must be better, even carrying Mr heart attack on the bench.
The boys followed everything to a tee, fast tempo ,really got at them. Ben played a lovely through ball and once again never a doubt Reece tucked it away with a great finish. 10 mins gone. For some reason the boys stopped playing properly, too many touches, attempts at hollywood passes, poor decision making. this ultimately cost us when Newdigate took advantage of our sloppiness and forced a corner...ball came in a bit of ping pong in the box and our net rippled 1-1. we went in 1-1 HT.

The boys were reminded the hill was worth a goal which Newdigate got and we needed to get back to basics and play like we can, it was now our turn. Didn't realise the hill was worth 6 goals for us. 3 mins into the 2nd half and we were awarded a penalty which Ben calmly put away after that it was 1 way traffic!!! goals from Haroon, Amin,George and a further 2 from our MOM Reece. We put another 3 points in the bag. A makeshift back line performed very well Brow stepping up again, Jonnie coming in from full back, Janos fresh back from Hungry and injury didn't put a foot wrong. Frank starting to show he can play again. Beau is giving me good headaches with Harry looking to come back . Gary gave a little cameo and looked a little rusty after 6 weeks out but still pulled a cracking save out of Newdigates keeper.
It would seem the boys like to turn up at half time.
