It was a grey and miserable afternoon at Dragons Green, but the weather did little to dampen TD Shipley’s spirits as the champions-elect thrashed a brave but struggling Bosham side 6–0.
The result came as no surprise, with Shipley continuing their relentless push at the top of the Southern Combination Division Two, while bottom-of-the-table Bosham endured another tough outing.
The Dragons struck early — just three minutes in — when Adam Campbell-Stone latched onto a quick throw from Weller and looped a clever half-volley over the helpless keeper.
On 23 minutes, Ollie Barton-Hague finished off an excellent team move, with Ollie Broad sliding in at the back post to make it 2–0. Broad then added his own name to the scoresheet shortly after with a stunning 25-yard strike to give Shipley a commanding lead before the break.
The fourth goal came on the hour mark as Barton-Hague coolly chipped a deft lob over the onrushing goalkeeper for his second of the game. Just four minutes later, debutant Ash Rycroft made it 5–0, slotting home confidently to cap a dream start to his Shipley career.
Max Furber completed the scoring in the 81st minute, finishing off another fine move with Barton-Hague turning provider once again.
It was also a special afternoon for Toby Smith and Ollie Broad, who both celebrated reaching 100 appearances for TD Shipley — a milestone they can be immensely proud of.
Next up, the Dragons face a tough away derby against second-placed Southwater, while the Robins travel to Upper Beeding as they continue their fight for form.
