The Dragons management team had prepared for a tough game as the away side finished third last season with only five losses. However, they did lose last week against Jarvis Brook FC 4-0.

Both teams were up for the battle at the picturesque Dragons Green Ground. The pitch was perfect and the home side wanted to get the ball down and work it out from the back.

Both teams were battling in the Sussex sun and the foxes front two were fast and dangerous. At stages it was like a human pinball game, end to end.

It was the mighty Dragons who were creating the better chances and on the 20th minute, Adam Campbell-Stone scored his first goal of the match. The home team were on top and their quality was shining through. Seven minutes later after some direct passes, Campbell-Stone was there again to finish off the move. Two nil up and Ferring had no answer.

The Dragons kept coming and their pressure paid off, on the 43rd minute the impressive Campbell-Stone finished off his hat trick with a cool finish. The home teams midfield were as firm as a deep rooted tree in a storm.

After a half time rollicking, the lions came out fighting. They threw some high balls into the box and managed to get one back on the 50th minute. For ten minutes they thought they could get back into the match but the energetic Ollie Broad ended their hopes with a brace. Goals on the 60th and 76th minute ended the game as a contest. Broad had a magnificent game and will score plenty this season.

Again, Ferring got one back but it was too late and George Onoofrei (84) and Kane Watt (87), completed the scoring. Seven goals in one match for a newly promoted team sends a message to the league.

The home management team were delighted with the performance and play against Bosham FC next week.
