Dragons bow out of Intermediate Cup

Rustington took control of the encounter early on and won the tie with a first half where the Dragons contributed to their own downfall.

The Dragons stepped up and called the line but the Rustington Forward avoided the flag and made no mistake with his finish to take the lead.

A run down their left flank and a low cross to the front post was fired in for 2-0 soon after.

Toby chipped the keeper midway through the half but agonisingly the ball hit the left post rather than the back of the net!

TD did have the ball in the net soon after but the ref brought back play for a mysterious head injury!

The Dragons stemmed the tide and hung on in but a slightly mis-timed tackle on 40 saw the ref award a pen which was duly dispatched and effectively the tie was over.

HT: 0-3

The Dragons did much better in the 2nd half and created a couple of half chances but could not find the back of the net.
